  • Breastfeeding medicine doctors care for both the infant and the lactating parent, navigating issues such as: breast and nipple problems, baby or maternal illness, and related complex breastfeeding concerns. We are able to diagnose and treat medical problems which may arise during the breastfeeding journey and provide holistic support during this time.

    An IBCLC (international board certified lactation consultant) is a health professional who has studied lactation and has significant experience in lactation support. I am currently in training to complete my IBCLC qualification.

  • Please bring your baby, the blue book, any specific feeding equipment you are using (e.g. nipple shields) plus medicare cards for you and baby.

  • I am based at KidMed Medical Centre and Hazelbrook General Practice in the Blue Mountains.

    I am available on Mondays at Kidmed. For appointments, please contact reception at KidMed on (02) 4748 9200.

    I am available on Fridays at Hazelbrook GP. For appointments, you can book online via HotDoc at https://www.hazelbrookgp.com.au, or alternatively please contact reception at Hazelbrook GP on (02) 4758 6210.

    I am available for appointments face to face or Telehealth.

  • For an initial postnatal breastfeeding appointment of 60 minutes there is a fee of $242.90 for the lactating parent. There is a Medicare rebate of $82.90 for this appointment. Baby will be bulk billed with a Medicare card.

    We highly recommend you register baby with Medicare as soon as possible after birth to avoid out of pocket costs.

    For all other appointment types gap fees will apply. Please see Statement of Fees below for more information.

    Please ensure you have registered your family for the extended Medicare safety net as this significantly reduces any out of pocket medical costs.

  • Of course, you’re welcome to bring your partner or support person.

    If you need to bring other children to the appointment they are welcome.

  • No, you don’t need a referral to see me.
